A real holiday with dogs
If you are looking to get away with your dogs, i’ve found the perfect place!
Out in the Open campsite don’t just tolerate dogs, they welcome them making sure they have plenty of space to run off lead in their own designated field which is mown regularly to reduce the risk of ticks. A truely dog friendly campsite, they can even help arrange local doggy daycare for days you don’t want to take them with you. There are numerous footpaths and bridleways which lead past the campsite so the car can stay parked.
Jester, the resident dog host, gives every dog a warm welcome and is happy to show them (or chase them) around the field.
This campsite is truly out in the open, surrounded by nothing but rolling hills and and open moorland. There are no dodgy pitches and definitely no road noise, the nearest country lane being over 400 yards away. Set inbetween Falmouth and Helston you won’t be short of places to visit, that is if you can manage to tear yourself away from your ideallic surrounding.
Cath and Dee are fantastic hosts who make you feel very welcome and still have a great sense of humour despite running a campsite for many years! They pride themselves on providing modern clean showers, toilets and washing facilites and even have a large covered barn with picnic benches and chairs should be unlucky enough to encounter some unfriendly Cornish weather.
If you don’t own your own tent or don’t like traditional camping they have a very stylish solution in the form of their Shepherd’s Huts. These 2 beautifully restored huts have been decorated in a country house style, with wood burning stoves, antique double bed, country kitchen and big pine table. You get to use both shepherds huts on your stay (one as bedroom the other kitchen diner) and you get your own private field with uninterupted views of the beautiful moorland.
Altenatively they have a traditional tipi (along with indoor open fire) which is comfortably kitted out for a luxurious camping stay.
Having been to many campsites, i can honestly say, Out In the Open is superior to anything I have ever stayed at. Uncrowded, large pitches, clean hot showers, breathtaking views, wet weather provision, space for dogs (as many as you like), fantastic walks and genuinely friendly hosts with ample local knowledge of the best locations.
Out In the Open is a perfect campsite where everyone is welcome, i just might regret telling you all about this well kept secret in case i can’t get booked in!!
These are genuine pictures taken at Out In the Open campsite, no photo library shots here, just the real thing, and it’s even more awe inspiring when you get there.
And they stock a good supply of Dicky Bags too, incase you forget to buy one before you leave.
